We promised the kids that we would get them a dog when we got to Africa, and we finally made good on our promise. Ladies and gentlemen, please say hello to Jack the Dog. (Note: No offense to Granddaddy or to my nephew; we didn't pick the name!) Jack's owner is moving to Swaziland, and so she need to find a new family for him. With the addition of Jack, here's the tally of animals at the Page House: 1 House Dog, 3 Guard Dogs, 6 Turtles (of varying size), numerous geckos and lizards (all wild), and plenty of ants. Our 3 guard dogs do not like Jack very much; I think they want to eat him for a snack. Tomorrow I have to go buy some more wire for the dog pens; the guard dogs tried to climb the fence to "greet" Jack upon his arrival. The guard dogs should be warned; Jack is a former street puppy, and the word is that he is pretty handy with a switchblade! Enjoy the photos!
