A Message from Sutton & Connor - VBS 2011

Our home church in NC, Southside Church, just completed VBS this past week, and Sutton and Connor were asked to put together a quick video discussing our big move to Kenya later this week.  Enjoy!

Goodbye North Carolina!

Goodbye NC!  The past week has been a blur of goodbyes, hugs, packing tape, and cardboard boxes.  On Sunday, Southside Church held a commissioning service for our family to send us out as missionaries to Africa.  It was an awesome service; thank you Southside!

We spent the rest of the week, packing up things that we are keeping, selling items on craigslist, giving away items to thrift stores, and taking junk to the dump.  Yesterday, with the help of a group of friends from church, we packed up all of our things into a U-Haul and left our beloved state of North Carolina.  Thanks to Jonathan, Kate, Rodney, Darlene, Reuben, Rosie, John, Phil, Russ, and Amy; we couldn't have done it without your help!

We drove down to my grandparents house in SC yesterday and spent the night with them and finally made it to GA today to spend time with family prior to our departure to Kenya on Wednesday, 8/3.  Hard to believe that we only have 6 days before our big departure.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this before, we got the news that we'd been praying about for the past few months.  We found a tenant for our house!  God provided us with a renter within a week of placing the house on the market.  Thanks for all of your prayers! God is good!

Goodbye Recall!!!

Well, it's official . . . I said my final goodbye today to Recall, my employer for the past 7 1/2 years.  Recall has been really good to our family over the years, and I'm really going to miss working with everyone there.

It's actually been a really cool "last week" at work.  Recall had their annual sales meeting this week, and they graciously allowed me to attend even though today was my last day.  It was awesome to see all of the friends that I've made over the years one last time, both on the ops and sales side.  So, for those of you following this blog, the  invitation still stands:  "Come see us in Kenya!  We would love to have you!"
