Christmas Eve Nativity Skit

On Christmas Eve, the Agape missionaries put together a small skit of the Nativity Story.  The Agape Boys love any type of acting and had a blast.  Here are a few photos:

Nyumbani Mkate Tanagawizi (Gingerbread House)

Here's a few photos of our annual Gingerbread House (Nyumbani Mkate Tangawizi, technically this grouping of words doesn't exist in Kenya, but I've just coined it) construction event from last week.  Better late than never!

The Stomach Clinic (Not what you think)

First thought on the stomach clinic. . . diagnosis and treatment center. . . not even close. This is actually a little hotel that advertises "clean chips" and other fresh food.

Kenyan Glossary
Stomach Clinic:  Hotel for Your Stomach
Hotel: Street Food Stand
Chips: French Fries
Fresh Food: You Be the Judge on that One!

The Gingerbread Poop Prank

While making the walls of our gingerbread house earlier today, our leftover scraps of dough looked unquestionably like . . . well . . . dog poop.  So, we baked it.

Our dog, Jack, has a tendency to poop in the courtyard, which served as a nice setup for our prank.  Connor happened to be spending the day at a friend's house, so she inadvertently became the poor victim of our holiday mischief.

Connor and Seth at Camp KYFA (Kisumu Youth Football Association)

Earlier this week, Kisumu Youth Football Association (KYFA) held their semi-annual Kids Camp.  Connor and Sutton decided to attend and had a great time playing soccer, doing crafts, and learning some new dance moves (see below).

Come Join the Fun!!!!

Agape Trip to Nakumatt Mega City

Earlier today we took the Agape Boys for a real treat - Bumper Cars and the Playground at Nakumatt Mega City!  Nakumatt is the Kenyan version of Wal-Mart, and Mega City is the closest thing Kisumu has to the mall.

Waiting to leave is torture!

Lyla had it easy on the walk!
Walking through Pembe Tatu to get to Mega City.
Tammy had to do a little first aid on Nark's elbow and knee.

James gets ready for the mayhem!

Meshack had fun going down
the slide at the Naughty Castle.
Tammy tries to bump Mama Benta.

Seth had a good time wrestling with the boys.

watering, I guess!)

Lyla was eating her snack and crying. She was exhausted.

Lyla's First School Play - A Diva Is Born

Last week, we attended Lyla's first school play where she played the silent, yet complex role of a sunflower.  The play was held at the Simba Club in Kisumu (that's Lion's Club to you Americans).

Our little sunflower!

When the lights came on and the seats were filled, Lyla transformed . . .

. . . into a little diva, elbowing her way to the front of the stage!
