Sip-N-See for Brad and Ellie

For all y'all out there that don't know what a Sip-N-See is. . . a Sip-N-See is just as simple as it sounds: Guests come and “sip” beverages and have a chance to “see” the precious newborn baby. We were so excited to host a Sip N See for our friends Brad and Ellie Harris in honor of the birth of their 4th child, Rebecca Grace. Rebecca was born in Kisumu on November 6th! She is a happy, healthy cuddly baby girl!

Connor was happy to have Rebecca Grace all to herself!

Ruth, Solomon, Ben, and Rachel have fun playing on the floor.

I am sure that Brad, Charlie, and Chris were talking about baby clothes, late night

Name that critter! Take your best guess!

While cutting the grass in our backyard our guard found this mystery critter. Give us your best guess. . .

It looks like a fish, snake, lizard, crocodile mix. We found a new species!

The guard cut the tail off so it couldn't run away.

Best guess?????

Swimming with the Agape boys!

During the school breaks, we usually have around 20-30 boys on campus which allows us to do some fun activities with the boys.  Last week we took all of the boys to a local pool.

Watch out Connor!!!

It melts our hearts to see Steven so happy.  Praise the Lord!

Duncan and Sebastian - Best Friends!
Tammy did her best to play lifeguard for the boys.

Father Christmas Arrival at Braeburn

One of the benefits of Lyla attending Braeburn International School one-day a week is that all of family gets to participate in Braeburn's activities.  Like the arrival of Santa . . . .

Lyla and Seth were really excited that Father Christmas finally arrived at Braeburn!

Waiting patiently. . .

Patience rewarded!

Chinese Toys Sold in Kenya

Kenya and China do a lot of trade together.  My impression thus far is that the relationship works like this:  China builds Kenya free roads, and then China gets to export to Kenya very, very cheap toys and other plastic items.

After Lyla opened her presents, we all had a good laugh at the Chinese-made toys' packaging.  Here are a few samples:

Happy 4th Birthday Lyla!!!

Our little Lyla just celebrated her 4th birthday!  Here's a few photos of our celebration:

Lyla prepares to devour her birthday dinner:  Bacon and French Fries . . . great choice!!!

Lyla gets ready to blow out her candles as Sutton waits with undisguised exuberance.

The original cake design was for the cake to be Barbie's dress . . . but when that didn't work out, the cake became Barbie's desk . . . but once we added the tray of McDonald's food, it became Barbie at a fast food joint.

After extricating Barbie from McDonalds, we decided to try out a Chinese-made Flower Candle on the cake.

I quote from the back of the box (all spelling and punctuation have been transcribed in their original format for your reading pleasure):  "Make the lighted joss stick become horizontal 45 degree of an angle, touch small red-point of gunpowder center under candle end,and full color fireworks can be spouted immediately."  My kind of party!

The final result of the "Flower Candles!"

Lyla opens up her birthday presents!
