Goodbye North Carolina!

Goodbye NC!  The past week has been a blur of goodbyes, hugs, packing tape, and cardboard boxes.  On Sunday, Southside Church held a commissioning service for our family to send us out as missionaries to Africa.  It was an awesome service; thank you Southside!

We spent the rest of the week, packing up things that we are keeping, selling items on craigslist, giving away items to thrift stores, and taking junk to the dump.  Yesterday, with the help of a group of friends from church, we packed up all of our things into a U-Haul and left our beloved state of North Carolina.  Thanks to Jonathan, Kate, Rodney, Darlene, Reuben, Rosie, John, Phil, Russ, and Amy; we couldn't have done it without your help!

We drove down to my grandparents house in SC yesterday and spent the night with them and finally made it to GA today to spend time with family prior to our departure to Kenya on Wednesday, 8/3.  Hard to believe that we only have 6 days before our big departure.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this before, we got the news that we'd been praying about for the past few months.  We found a tenant for our house!  God provided us with a renter within a week of placing the house on the market.  Thanks for all of your prayers! God is good!

  1. Hi Chris and Tammy,

It was my pleasure to help. The biggest reason is because I got to spend more time with you before you left. I'm surprised I didn't cry...well I think I didn't I'm not sure anymore, you know this old brain") Tammy, I sent you that poem, it is on Sutton's email.

Sutton and Connor, you guys did a terrific job on the video! I see a future in broadcasting!
And of course I will pray for you and the street boys. Give Lyla and Seth a big hug for me! I will miss you guys. OOOXXXX
